Ms. Nielsen's Chemistry Class Hermosa Drilling Project
Students started research with this library pathfinder.
They then wrote email letters to Hermosa Beach City Council members stating their positions on the issue of whether Hermosa Beach should move forward with drilling. See their letters here.
Their efforts were recognized by Nanette Barragan and Hany Fangary, two City Council members, who then visited Mira Costa April 16, 2014 to speak about the issues associated with the drilling. Ms. Nielsen's project was also featured in this March 28 article in the Beach Reporter.
